My Handmade Life

A new adventure...

Hello and welcome to “My Handmade Life” blog.  I’m totally new to this so please be patient with me on my journey into the blogging world.  As I’ve said so many times, I love dialoging with fellow crafters and quilters and I was hoping this would a great opportunity to set aside time once a week and chat about creativity, homemaking, and motherhood.

I’ve been asked a lot why I spell “bequilting” the way I do and what it stands for.  The “b” in the name stand for my son’s name while the “e” is my daughters name. Plain and simple, my children are the motivating factor in wanting to make more out of myself - to not just settle with what was in front of me, but to take on new challenges and things that scared me.  I love the artisan process and recognize how special it is for people to create and take back the manufacturing process.

For years I never considered offering my creations to the public, much less starting my own business.  But with a lot of support from family and friends, I was proud to officially open bequilting in early 2016.   The adventure so far has been an absolute blast and I look forward to a one year anniversary with hopefully many to follow. I LOVE interacting with the quilty community as I’ve never known a kinder, more supportive group of people.  Please feel free to comment below, email or direct message me in instagram with any thoughts, questions, project talk. I love to talk quilty anytime :)

I look forward to building a personal relationship with each of my clients as I’ve done from the beginning.  Getting to know a little bit about each of my clients has helped me when considering the personality of each piece I do.  I feel so blessed to be doing what I love with the support of my family to keep at it - the energy and sense of belonging I get from this company makes me feel at peace.

Next week I will be writing on my son’s upcoming birthday quilt as well as a “secret” project that will be featured in my next giveaway...

Until next week.

Love,

Alicia

Alicia,
I'm so happy with the handmade kitchen towels that you designed just for me. Your creativity and talent is truly amazing. Hard to believe that a kitchen towel can be such a piece of art that they could be framed. I have been guarding the towels and telling my husband that they are for drying clean hands or dishes only, not for wiping up a spill of spaghetti sauce. We both have new respect for kitchen towels, and beautiful, functional, decorative pieces hanging from our stove.
I now have a new place to go for special one of a kind gifts, and I'm already thinking about my moms next birthday or Mothers Day creations.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Thank you!
Sincerely,
Brenda
